As a kid in Beirut, Lebanon, Selim Mouzannar meandered the incense-scented corridors of the souk, where individuals from the city’s Christian people group ran its hundred gems workshops Mr. Mouzannar’s dad and granddad among them. The souk was pulverized in 1976 amid the beginning of the nation’s respectful war, however for Mr. Mouzannar, presently a 53-year-old originator with spiky silver hair and his very own Beirut-based gems line, it remains a powerful memory.
